Introducing Wonder Workshop: Creating Opportunities Through Creativity

We believe it only takes one opportunity to change a child's entire story.

For many disadvantaged children, confidence, self-belief and communication don't come easily. They may have experienced trauma, instability, additional learning needs or difficult life circumstances that leave them feeling unheard, overlooked or unable to reach their potential.

That's why we've launched Wonder Workshop - our flagship creative engagement programme designed to help vulnerable children grow in confidence, develop resilience and find their voice through the power of creativity.

More Than Learning Magic

We're delighted to be delivering the first Wonder Workshop at Bradley Stoke Community School in partnership with professional magician and friend of the Foundation Callum Weaver.

While magic provides the creative medium for these first sessions, Wonder Workshop is about so much more than learning tricks.

Each activity led by Callum has been carefully designed to encourage children to step outside their comfort zones, communicate with others, solve problems creatively and experience the sense of achievement that comes from mastering something they never thought possible.

In a safe, supportive environment, children are encouraged to perform, collaborate and celebrate one another's successes - building confidence that extends far beyond the workshop itself.

Creating Moments of Wonder

Wonder has a unique ability to capture attention, spark curiosity and open minds. When children experience moments of amazement, they become more willing to engage, take risks, ask questions and believe they can achieve more than they imagined.

That's the heart of Wonder Workshop.

The skills children develop aren't limited to the activities taking place in the room. They begin to carry that confidence into classrooms, friendships and everyday life.

Whether it's speaking in front of others for the first time, volunteering an answer in class or simply believing in themselves a little more, these seemingly small moments can become significant turning points.

Early Signs of Impact

Although the programme is still in its early stages, the response has been incredibly encouraging from the completion of our first pilot.

Teachers have already reported demonstrable improvements in pupils' confidence, engagement and attitudes after just a few sessions. As the programme continues, we'll gather pupil voice, teacher reflections and impact data to better understand the difference Wonder Workshop is making in children's lives.

These early indicators reinforce what we hoped from the beginning: that creativity, encouragement and trusted relationships can unlock potential that may otherwise remain hidden.

Looking Beyond the Pilot

This first pilot marks the beginning of a much bigger vision.

Our ambition is for Wonder Workshop to become a flagship programme that can be delivered in many schools and communities, giving more disadvantaged children access to inspiring creative experiences that build confidence, communication skills, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

As we evaluate the success of this pilot, we'll continue working with schools and partners to explore how the programme can be refined, expanded and adapted to reach even more young people.

And sometimes, all it takes is one moment of wonder to help them discover what's possible.
